Illusion on wells/ Ilusión sobre ruedas.

I took this photo in an American cars show in Gijón. I wanted to give it an old taste while developing. I wanted the grain to be shown and the contrast to be a little bit higher. I used Agfa Rodinal diluted 1/50 and the film was Ilford FP4.

It was one of this images which was in my mind after being maid. You usually take lot of photos in every session. When you are bored you get your camera and you go hunting to see what do you find and you shot hoping to find something interesting. Most of the times you don't, you just shot people, streets, adds... and if you are lucky you get a couple of good images.

Sometimes, a few of the times, you see something really different, something that doesn't happen every day at your town.

And you come back home thinking you have made a great photo. While the photo is still invisible in the negative you think about it, you imaging how beautiful it would be.

Most of the times that incredible photo is just an ordinary photo and sometimes photos which you thought would be bad became good photos.

This is one of the times when the photo was just what I thought it would be at firs time.

Tomé esta fotografía en una exibicion de coches americanos en Gijón. A la hora de revelarla en el laboratorio intenté que tubiese un aspecto antiguo. Quise que se dejase ver el grano en la imagen y que el contraste fuese un poco más elevado de lo normal. Usé Agfa rodinal en una dilución de 1/50 y la película fue Ilford FP4.

Fue una de esas imágenes que rondaba mi cabeza despues de haberla hecho. Normalmente sacas un montón de fotografías en cada sesión. Cuando te aburres coges la cámara y sales de caza a ver que aparece, y disparas con la esperanza de encontrarte algo interesante. La mayoría de las veces no encuentras algo distinto, simplemente fotografías a la gente, las calles, te fijas en los anuncios... y con un poco de suerte consigues dos o tres buenas imágenes.

Algunas veces, muy pocas, ves algo realmente diferente, algo que no ocurre todos los días en tu ciudad.

Y vuelves a casa con la ilusión de haber hecho una gran foto. Mientras la imagen permanece latente sobre el negativo piensas en ella, imaginas como quedará una vez positivada, el tipo de papel que usarás...

Muchas veces ves que esa foto que parecía fantástica no era tan buena y otras ves que fotos que parecian corrientes acaban siendo buenas fotos.

Este es uno de los pocos casos en los que la foto quedó como pensaba que quedaría en un principio.
